Two Love Birds: Sarah & Toby

August 19, 2010 |

It was so much fun to photograph Sarah and Toby’s big day!  They met while attending Mercer University, so it was so perfect that they got to get married at Newton Chapel on the Mercer campus.  They had a beautiful fresh garden theme to their wedding with bright colors and personalities to match.  It was truly a blast to be a part of their day.  I also got to work with some of my fav vendors so it’s always a joy to work with talented people!  So onto the preview!

The ladies started their day with muffins and mimosas and some primping atSignature Salon with the fabulous Nichole Mitchell.

Sarah had some beautiful details.  She had her wedding date and her parents’ wedding date monogrammed on the inside of her dress.  The fab Michael Angela was behind the monograms.  “To my Goose”was engraved on the inside of Sarah’s ring… its the nickname Toby’s calls her.   Sarah’ s garters were also an adorable find from Esty!

Even though her daddy passed away years ago his memory was very much a part of their special day.

Sarah had a fun group of girls to stand beside her on her big day!blog_0013blog_0014

I found this stained glass window on the ceiling on the side room where the bride and her girls were hiding.  AMAZING!  blog_0030blog_0031blog_0032

These adorable little guys handed out programs stowed in a lovely birdcage.blog_0033

Right before the service started Sarah was peaking through the church doors and we stumbled into some incredible light!

The ceremonyblog_0037

The ceremony was so special.  The candle decorated with corn was in honor of  Sarah’s dad who was a corn farmer. Sarah’s mom lit her part of unity candle from that candle during the ceremony.  When Sarah and Toby lit their unity candle all of their parents were represented!  blog_0036

Sarah’s brother was so proud to walk her down the aisle.blog_0038

She took Toby’s breath away.  So sweet!blog_0039blog_0040blog_0041blog_0042

A lot of Sarah’s friends call her by her last name McCranie.  The monogram wreaths that I featured in their first look were another cool, personal touch!

Goodbye McCranie. . . Hello Layson!blog_0061

The wedding party took the Molly Trolley over to The Blacksmith Shop for some reception fun!  blog_0062

Carmen of Nectar and Co. transformed the Blacksmith Shop with flowers and fabric.  And Teddi Wohlford of Culinary Creations made all the fabulous food.  My favorite is the bruschetta.  It is amazing!!blog_0063

Sarah’s had a lot of bird details (which I love, love, love!!) including this bird house.blog_0064

Amanda’s Cakery did the fabulous cake.  Check out the adorable love birds on top, also from an Esty company, RedLightStudio! blog_0066

Sarah and Toby got crazy with the cake. . . Sarah even got a little up Toby’s nose!blog_0067

Sarah and Toby’s details really made the day so special.  They gave homemade strawberry fig preserves as their wedding favor.  blog_0068

Toby was super excited about the melted chocolate that topped his groom’s cheese cake! Yum!

blog_0069

DJ Kevin Nichols of DKH Entertainment kept the crowd dancing all night!blog_0070blog_0071

Since one of Sarah’s themes was the monogram, we decided to create one more monogram. . . with sparklers!blog_0072

It was a hot day in middle GA and the heat lighting was present!  Check out that bolt I caught on film!  Crazy!

After running through sparklers, Sarah and Toby made their getaway on the Molly Trolley.blog_0075

Sarah and Toby, I hope you had fun on your honeymoon!  I had so much fun documenting your special day.  Can’t wait to show you more!
