Meet My Chickens

October 17, 2012 |

I am long overdue introducing my chickens here on the blog.  If you follow me on Instagram you will have met my chickens already…but for those of you who are faithful blog followers I thought it was time to introduce you to my chickens!

Here are Miss Rosemary and Lady Thyme!

Rosemary is a Road Island Red hen.

She is the sweetest and doesn’t mind being held.

Thyme is a Leghorn Hen… she is the Chicken-in-charge!

They are buddies.

Then meet little Miss Salt and Miss Pepper.  They are both Bantam Chickens.  They are BFF and always stick together. Obviously Pepper on the left and Salt on the right!

You may be asking yourself how our little daggle Kenzie has been handling the new additions to Greendale Cottage, and she thinks they are awesome!

She only chases them when they chase each other and knows not to try to eat them!

I had to post a pic of Pepper’s bloomers they are amazing!

And if you are wondering we get 3-4 eggs a day!  I only had a pic of the eggs from my phone, but the Brown eggs are Rosemary’s, and the large white ones are Thyme’s. The smaller ones come from Salt and Pepper!

Oh and the golf ball is there to help the hens know where to lay….Hope you enjoyed meeting my hens.  Koutsunis and I both love them and enjoy putting them on the side porch at night! Thanks again to Charles for letting us give them a home!
