Aerin & Adam: Go Durkins. . . & Go Dawgs!

August 5, 2011 |

Aerin and Adam’s bright and beautiful wedding took place on a bright and beautiful day in Savannah – one of my favorite cities!  I just looooove this couple and their group of friends!  Aerin was a bridesmaid 2 years ago in my bride, Amy’s wedding!  I had such a blast getting to know her over the past months as she has prepared for her day, and it was so much fun to catch up with Amy.  Another one of both Aerin and Amy’s bridesmaids is Jami and she is getting married at the end of this month!  And I’ll have the privilege of shooting her wedding too!  I just love when I get to be part of such a sweet group of friends’ lives!  Back to Aerin and Adam though!  It was an amazing day so onto the preview!

The girls got ready at the lovely Mansion on Forsyth Park.  Don’t you love this bed?  Fit for a princess! booklogo2Aerin’s bling!   Aerin had a very special “something old:”  Adam’s grandmother’s wedding band.  Her “somethings new” were her earrings and bracelet.  She borrowed the blue embroidered hankie from her grandmother.booklogo3Aerin’s lovely Priscilla of Boston gownbooklogo4

I love the crystal buttons down the back!

booklogo5booklogo6I just loved Aerin’s handmade shoes that she ordered from Spain!  So swanky!booklogo7booklogo8

I love getting daddy’s reaction the first time he see his little girl as a bride!

booklogo9Aerin’s MOH (& sister) helped to make her shoes perfect by adding these adorable “I do” decals to the soles.  booklogo10

We started out with a few bridals in the Mansion.

booklogo91Then it was off to the reception at the Charles H. Morris Center.  Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Adam Durkin!!booklogo93First Dance to Sister Hazel’s “This Kind of Love”booklogo94

Such a sweet first dance!

booklogo98

Adam and Aerin were the envy of the Bulldawg Nation when they shot their engagement in Sanford Stadium.  So of course they had to show a little love to the Dawgs at their wedding too!  Adam’s groom’s cake was Uga.  So when they cut the cake, of course they had to call the Dawgs!  They even toasted with champagne glasses emblazoned with a G for Georgia!  And Adam’s mom added a sweet touch with the UGA cookies, complete with a sweet note.

booklogo95The delicious cakes were made by Savannah Custom Cakes.  And how great are these cakes?  The bride’s cake was made to mimic the Aerin’s gown, and it even had an elegant monogram.  And the groom’s cake was such a great representation of Uga! booklogo96

It’s a pretty close match!

booklogo99

Aerin and Adam’s yummy food was prepared by Creative Catering.  I LOVED their wedding food, complete with fried chicken fingers, and cheese grits bar, and my fav fried green tomatoes! booklogo97

I love sneaking out for a few extra romantics at the reception!
