Married: Maggie & Andy!

June 11, 2013 |

Maggie and Andy are the sweetest couple! They’re so in love and have so much fun together! They got married on a sunny spring day that was filled with family, love and laughter. Family played such an important role in the big day, from the arbor they married under that was built by Maggie’s dad to the ceremony performed by Andy’s dad. It was beautiful to see their families come together and celebrate their marriage.

Maggie’s gorgeous gown.
Maggie is a very traditional bride. Her “something old” was her garter, made by her mom with lace from her own wedding gown. Her “something new” was her wedding gown. Her “something borrowed” was her necklace. She borrowed it from her sister, Summer, who inherited it from their grandmother. And her sister also found the little blue jewel to sew in her garter as a “something blue.” Maggie’s dad even put a penny in her shoe for luck.
The bling!
I’m a little bit obsessed with this shot of Andy’s ring beside a note that Maggie wrote him. Maggie also wore her Grandmaudie’s ring on her right hand.
The girls had their hair and makeup done at the hotel. Maggie’s sister-in-law, Kristin, did all the fabulous hair, and the makeup was by the ladies from Merle Norman Covington. Then, the girls got dressed in the fabulous master suite at Kent Rock Manor. Maggie’s sisters, Summer and Mae, helped Maggie into her dress.

Beautiful bride

This is the second time I’ve worked with most of these girls. Maggie is my assistant Lori’s cousin. They are a very close family, so most of the cousins were also bridesmaids in Lori’s sister, Lesley’s wedding too. They are a very silly group of girls.

Cameo by my assistant, Lori, showing off the lovely bouquet by Blooming Dales Flowers.

Gorgeous bridal of Maggie in the fabulous Lady Banks rose. Andy and his groomsmen, looking very manly and serious.
And this is Andy’s true personality. He is so funny and goofy.
I don’t know what to do with my hands!

Maggie wore a special piece of jewelry from both of her grandmothers: a diamond ring from Grandmaudie and a diamond pendant from Grandmother.

What a perfect spot for an outdoor wedding! And Maggie’s dad built the arbor!!

Andy’s dad performed the sweet ceremony. It was a very emotional ceremony, and his dad shed a few tears.

Kissing his bride

Kent Rock Manor is such a unique venue. The reception took place by the pool. Check out that gorgeous view! And one interesting surprise: they have a camel. Seriously.
First dance!
One of my very favorite moments of the night was when Maggie’s dad welcomed the guests and said the blessing. He said, “In our family we hold hands when we say the blessing.” So he asked everyone to join hands. It was amazing to see these two families come together in prayer.

All the yummy food was by Beyond Details. Maggie’s sweet little niece, Reagan, picked her a special flower, so Maggie pinned it in her hair for the reception.
The delicious cakes were by Sugar Kneads Cakery. Maggie’s favorite kind of cake is chocolate, but Andy likes white cake. So Andy chose the flavor of the bride’s cake and Maggie chose the flavor of the groom’s cake.

This light, and these doors, and this couple. . . . GORGEOUS!

A hug for her Daddy
Maggie and Andy have such a strong foundation to build on. Both sets of parents are happily married: Andy’s parents have been married for 32 years, and Maggie’s have been married for 42! And they’re still so much in love!
These two guys were fighting it out for the garter, but Maggie’s niece Annalynn caught the bouquet. Then she ran around announcing, “I am the champion!!” Adorable!

Maggie’s grandfather, Pop, drove Maggie and Andy away from their reception. Pop has 26 grandchildren, and he has driven almost all of them away from their wedding receptions. I just love this sweet tradition!

Maggie and Andy, thanks for sharing your beautiful day with me!
