One of my favorite parts of Christmas this year was Simpson and Brian’s wedding! Koutsunis (my hubby/assistant) and I took our first trip to Fredericksburg, TX for Simpson & Brian’s wedding weekend. I cannot say enough great things about these two kids and their friends and families. We felt so blessed to be part of such a sweet celebration of marriage. Simpson’s parents (Frank and Jane) did such an incredible job filling every moment with as much joy and love as they could squeeze in. It’s safe to say that K and I both felt like family by the end of the weekend. So with all the craziness of Christmas and then my early January travels I am just getting to post their wedding preview. So since I know you have been stalking my blog this is dedicated to the proud father of the bride! Frank, I know you will enjoy!
Simpson chose Fredericksburg as her destination wedding because she use to work at a summer camp there growing up. One of Simpson’s favorite things about the landscape in Fredericksburg is the beautiful old oaks. I had to incorporate them as much as I could. Her lovely dress.
Some more wedding details! Her shoes were her something borrowed and blue.
rings!
On the inside of Brian’s ring Simpson had “my beloved, my friend” inscribed.
You are not gonna believe this: Paula Deen did Simpson’s makeup. No really that’s her name! She is full of all kinds of incredible beauty tips….I totally learned a thing or two.
Simpson’s daddy, Frank, was so taken away when he saw his little girl on her wedding day.
Nothing takes the wedding day edge off like a few mimosas!
Just two of my favorite day-of bridals. To see Simpson’s Bridal session click ***HERE***
All the lovely florals were by Michelle Hodges with Sprout.
While I was with the gals, Koutsunis was over with the guys getting ready at the church. Brian polished up his Chacos for the finishing touch to his wedding day attire.
Love the bow tie.
Simpson and Brian met up over at the Hoffman Haus for their “first look.”
sniff, sniff.
Who has a red hankie to wipe his tears? ….Brain that’s who! Love!
Check out that foot gear!
Romantics
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! My most absolute most favorite photo of the day!
Don’t mess with Texas!
All the pretty ladies workin’ their Tyra poses.
They guys and a random cat…hahah.
Then it was off the the chapel to go get married. K and I drove the couple over for a few more romantics and I had to add these two images in…a little inside joke for the bride and groom. That one stays between Simpson, Brian, K and me.
The beautiful Zion Lutheran Church in downtown Fredricksburg.
Finally time to head down the aisle.
I had to throw a shot of Josh Garrett in here. He sang and played a couple of songs for the ceremony. Iactually shot his wedding a year and half ago! It was fun taking his pic again!
On the way out of the church they had carolers bringing “tidings of comfort and joy!”
Group Shot!
We hopped on the PARTY BUS to head over to the reception at Kario’s Celebration Barn.
Some reception details. The signature cocktail for the evening was called the “Brian Hogan” (vodka, sweet tea, and lemonade.) Also a big theme in Brian and Simpson’s relationship was writing letters. That is how they fell in love. So they asked their guests to write them letters encouraging them in their new life together!
First dance.
Mmmmm Cake…..
& Brian’s fav cookies!
We had to sneak outside for just a couple of romantics!
Oh and man, these people could dance!!! The All Funk Radio Show brought down the house!
Oh and my fav shot I have already posted in their “first look post” ***HERE***
Thanks Brian and Simpson for having me out to TX for your amazing wedding weekend. We had such a blast and felt so special to be invited to all the weekend’s events. A lot of wonderful people came together to celebrate and I feel blessed to have gotten the opportunity to work with some amazing vendors. An extra special big thanks to Elizabeth and her team with Elizabeth Harris Event Design. There are hundreds of specials touches that Elizabeth brought to Simpson and Brian’s day. Elizabeth posts about her experience on her blog ***HERE***
I hope you enjoyed your preview I have lots more to share very soon!
