The first time I met Lindsey and Marcus I knew that they were both hopeless romantics. I would say that romantic is the perfect word to describe their day. Ever since Lindsey was a little girl her favorite time of year was Christmas and as long as she can remember she has dreamed of a Christmas wedding at The Hay House. The Hay House is a landmark antebellum mansion in the heart of downtown Macon, GA. Every year a group comes in and decks the hall of the Hay House for Christmas! It was truly a beautiful backdrop for their elegant and romantic wedding. I had a blast working with Lindsey and Marcus and their fun group of friends and family. Being there was a perfect start to get me in the Christmas Cheer! So onto the photos!
The day began at Signature Salon where Nichole Mitchell worked her magic and created another fab updo. RingsLindsey’s beautiful lace gown. Perfect dress for this elegant venue.
The lace detail looked like snow flakes!
Getting ready
There are two amazing stained glass windows… this one is in the hall on the main stairwell.
This one is my favorite and it is located in the dinning room.. What a beautiful bride!
Marcus got the first glimpse of his bride in the gardens behind the home.
I love the moment when the groom lifts the blusher to see his bride.
What a beautiful couple!I love this series. The afternoon light was so beautiful, and it really captured the romance. You can see how much Lindsey and Marcus love each other. Kissing by the koi pond. Such a lovely couple!Lindsey was such an elegant bride! Her pearl earrings and necklace were the perfect finishing touch, her grandfather bought the pearls while in Italy during WWII for her grandmother. Her mother wore the same jewelry in her wedding, and now Lindsey wore them on her day. I love a family legacy. Lindsey’s beautiful bouquet was created by Petals. Red roses and berries were perfect for a Christmas wedding!Love this shot! What a classic couple!
In front of the house!
Marcus’ groomsmen (and lady). Instead of a best man, Marcus chose his sister as his best-girl. So sweet!Lindsey and her ladiesThe dashing groom
The wedding party…pretending it’s not cold!
Stealing a kiss or twoFor a surprise pop of color, Lindsey was rocking these adorable red shoes!
They headed up to the balcony for some extra special photos!
As the sun set, we got a few shots overlooking downtown Macon. We couldn’t find any mistletoe, but Lindsey and Marcus did grab a few kisses under the Christmas tree before they said “I do.”
Ceremony time!
Lindsey and Marcus had a guitar quartet to entertain their guests during the ceremony and. One of the members of the quartet, Terry Cantwell, is a close family friend, so this was an extra special treat for them. I also snagged a shot of their handwritten vows.
Marcus, waiting for his bride.Vows
There is a small window on the third floor that looks down into the ball room….Koutsunis (the hubby/second shooter) did a fab job capturing a few images at a bird’s eye view!
Lindsey and Marcus wrote their own vows and pronounced them to each other, and everyone shed a few tears. It was very sweet!RingsLindsey and Marcus took a moment to show their love and appreciation for two important ladies: Lindsey’s mom and Marcus’ grandmother. A sweet kiss on the cheek before their first kiss. The KissThe happy couple, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus McGuire. Lindsey and Marcus decorated with Christmas trees, red berries and greenery. They even gave snowflake ornaments as their wedding favor. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season!Marcus and Lindsey stole a few kisses in the elevator before the reception. The delicious food was made by Teddi Wohlford of Culinary Creations.
Had to get a shot of my fave dish, the bruschetta! It is beautiful and delicious!
The lovely cake, complete with a Christmas bow, was made by Cathy Harris of Tea Party Time Catering.
Loved these champagne flutes, monogrammed with the couple’s new name and wedding date, a gift from the bride’s sister and maid of honor! Donna Jennings made the groom’s cake. It looked like a giant bottle of his fav beer, Red Stripe. Ya man! Lindsey and Marcus’ first dance Lindsey, showing off her red dancing shoes, while Marcus takes off her garter. The band, Shaken Not Stirred, kept the couple and their guests dancing all night.
Tiffany, the groom’s sister and best lady gave a heart warming speech, followed by some sweet words from Lindsey’s daddy!
Before they left, I had to snag a shot in the beautiful marble hall!
Then it was off through the “snowflakes.”And one last kiss before they leave.Lindsey and Marcus, thank you for letting me be a part of your day. It was such a sweet celebration!
