Audrey & Cody Part 2

January 2, 2013 |

You may remember Audrey and Cody’s stunning Los Cabos wedding from this summer. It was a beautiful but intimate ceremony for Audrey and Cody’s closest family and friends. But of course, they still wanted to have a reception for family and friends who weren’t able to make it all the way to Mexico. So they decided to have  a fabulous reception at Audrey’s family’s lake house at Lake Oconee. The whole party was put together by Maxine Strickland, with a lot of help from Audrey’s mom, Fran. And let me tell you, these ladies know how to throw a fantastic party!

The house was filled with photographs from the wedding in Mexico.
Audrey and Cody already exchanged wedding gifts, but they wanted to do a little something special for each other to commemorate this special day. Since they both enjoy a good scotch, Audrey gave Cody monogrammed double old fashioned glasses to get the party started.

Cheers!
Cody gave Audrey a book of poetry that includes an e.e. cummings poem that was read at their wedding ceremony.

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in

my heart) i am never without it (anywhere

i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done

by only me is your doing, my darling)

Party dress!Every bride needs something blue. Audrey borrowed her mom’s diamond and sapphire earrings and bracelet to match those adorable blue shoes! She also wore the gorgeous diamond necklace that her parents surprised her with at the wedding in Mexico.

It must be fun to get to wear your wedding dress one more time! It’s also so sweet that Audrey’s hubby got to help her get ready.

Audrey and Cody’s sweet pups, Wrigley and Rupp, were dressed up in their tuxes for the occasion.

I loved the back of Audrey’s Lela Rose gown.

We took a few minutes to shoot some romantics down by the lake.

The happy family!

They are soooo adorable!

The living room was a perfect spot for the Cake!
Audrey’s lovely cake was by Debra Adam.

More beautiful wedding images above the fire place!

What a gorgeous setting for this reception!

Audrey and Cody snuck upstairs before the guests arrived.

I just love this image of her daddy giving his toast in Mexico!
Even the pool area was ready  to party!

A delicious oyster bar and all the other fab food was by Hallie Jane’s.
I love the dance floor that they brought in for the party!
Dr. Meyer, Audrey’s dad, welcomed all the guests and introduced the happy couple, while her mom stood by with the granddogs.

Grand Entrance

Before sunset, we decided to get a few romantics by the lake.

We even recreated the proposal on the dock where Cody popped the question.

Sunset over Lake Oconee

What a dream!
Audrey and her daddy had a sweet father daughter dance.

Then it was the groom’s turn.

Then they cut the cake!

Yum!
Before it was time to cut the cake, Audrey slipped into this adorable party dress.

Since Audrey and Cody are psychologists, Cody’s cake was Sigmund Freud lying on the couch. Hilarious!!

Love this quote: “One is very crazy when in love.”

What an awesome twist on the wedding favor! Instead of giving the guests something to take home, they sponsored a child in Uganda through Embrace It Africa!Homemade cookies!

The Heather Hays Experience kept the crowd dancing.

Thanks for sharing your wedding experience with me, Audrey and Cody!
