Engaged: Mary Priestly & Taylor

June 25, 2014 |

There is something about Macon, GA….I have had more couples that either knew each other growing up or dated in high school.  Mary Priestly and Taylor are no exception.  Their families were friends growing up and they went to the same high school, but these two did not start dating until after college.  We got together for their engagement session right before they moved to Texas to start a new life together. Mary Priestly grew up downtown and Taylor has lived downtown for the past few years so Coleman Hill was the perfect stop for this couple’s engagement session.

I asked M.P. a few questions about her engagement and wedding planning so check out her answers though this post.

Why did you pick the location of your engagement session?

MP: “Taylor and I have had an adventurous relationship from day one. From kayaking to shark fishing, we love spending time together outdoors, even if it’s just enjoying each other’s company on a porch somewhere. ”

How did he propose?

MP: “Taylor and I had a long overdue vacation to St. Simons planned for a week in April. After a long day of teaching baby ballerinas and a terribly delayed flight from Nashville, Taylor and I took a walk on the beach late that night where he proposed! As shocked as I was, little did I know the surprises were far from over. Taylor had arranged for both of our parents and my brother to come down later that week to celebrate with us. “

What are you most excited about your wedding?

MP: “Because historic downtown Macon is special to both of us, all of the wedding festivities will be taking place there! We will start off the celebration with the rehearsal dinner at The Hay House and then we will be married at Mulberry Methodist, which is both of our church homes since childhood. Probably what is most special about this is our childhood pastor, Rev. Creede Hinshaw, will be marrying us! We’ve chosen to celebrate with friends and families after the ceremony at the historic Macon Terminal Station. ”
