Grier & David’s Savannah Wedding

June 25, 2019 |

Grier and David had a classic Savannah wedding. The bride grew up in Savannah, but the groom is from New Orleans and so it was a destination wedding for the two of them. There were so many personal touches found throughout the day that I cannot wait to share with y’all! The day started at the bride’s parents house in the Landings where the couple got ready and did their first look.

How cute are their getting ready PJs!

Hair and makeup by Jessica Shefsick and the team from Bride Side Beauty.

Her stunning gown with a statement asymmetrical bow on the back was by Anne Barge.

The earrings were a gift from the groom! Great job David!

In keeping with the tradition of something “old”, something “new”, the bride had a very special sixpence in her Jimmy Choo!!! The sixpence was the one her mother had in her wedding and given by Virginia (a dear family friend). The “Blue” was the bride’s initials embroidered inside the dress. The something “old” was her grandmother’s lace on her bouquet, and the new was the dress and the shoes, of course!

Her daddy seeing his little girl as a bride for the first time.

Davids ring was engraved with their wedding date, and his monogrammed cuff links were a gift from his bride.

Ready to see his bride!

Such a beautiful couple!

After a few romantics, we headed to Forsyth Park to photograph a few romantics and photos with the bridal party.

There was a big storm rolling in, but that didn’t stop us from getting a few shots in front of the beautiful fountain in the middle of the park!

The groomsmen were a blast to work with!

The next stop was Christ Church Anglican where the couple’s ceremony took place.

The beautiful florals were by Julie Discoll with Garden on the Square.

The couple’s nephews did a great job passing out the programs and just wait until you see this little guy’s dance moves.

I shot most of the ceremony through the double doors.

We had to pause here for a few photos after the ceremony. The light was breathtaking!

The couple’s reception was held at the Savannah Yacht Club. The storm that blew in right before the ceremony really hit the Yacht Club hard. It even flipped a boat! We were so thankful for the team that worked so hard to make everything perfect. You would have never known the chaos that happened only an hour before they arrived! Anne Bone Events and her team also did an amazing job with the reception and all the details!

The sky did not disappoint!

Look to the right in this photo and you will see the boat that was flipped over by the crazy winds!

The band, The Maxx with East Coast Entertainment did an incredible job! These guys really battled the weather and pulled out all the stops!

Delicious cakes by: Mollie Stone.

The couple had a special surprise for their UVA fans. They had CAV man make an appearance and get everyone hyped for 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Champions!

The best dancer from the wedding award goes to this guy!

The bride and groom had some pretty awesome moves too!

Thanks David and Grier for having me as part of your day! It was a day filled with crazy weather, but more importantly a lot of wonderful family and friends and a beautiful celebration of your marriage!
