Sara & Paul

February 1, 2013 |

Now that everyone made it through the holidays, we’re in the middle of the winter lull. Christmas is over, the new year isn’t so new anymore, but it’s not quite spring. So I thought I would take a look back at one more wedding, my last wedding of 2012. This Christmas wedding was the perfect way to finish out 2012. Sara and Paul are the sweetest couple. God really worked out his plan in their lives! One of Sara’s friends set them up even though Paul lived all the way across the country in Seattle. Sara resisted, but in the end God had other plans. You can read their whole story in their engagement session post. Now here they are. . . ready to say I do!

So on to their preview. First, check out the bling!! Gorgeous!  Rings by Bashinski’s.

Princess Sara!

Sara got ready in her childhood room. Even though she hasn’t lived here for years, her parents kept it just like it was in high school. So Sara spent her last day as a single lady, getting ready in her high school bedroom. So cute!

Gil McPhaul, a family friend did Sara’s hair and makeup.

Sara’s sister and MOH, Lucia, helped her into her dress.

Beautiful bride!
Sara wanted to see Paul for a quiet moment together before the ceremony. They did their first look out on her parents’ land, beneath the pines overlooking the pond. The perfect setting!

Paul offered up a sweet prayer for his bride on their day!  Favorite moment by far!
Then he gave her a sweet gift… he had one piece of her wedding silver made into a beautiful cuff bracelet.

Such a beautiful, classic couple.

Sara was a stunning bride!
Sara’s classic and elegant bouquet by Allison Lucas had just the right amount of holiday spirit. It was a classic white bridal bouquet with a few sprigs of cedar and red berries. Perfection!

Love this shot!We were blessed with lots of dreamy sunlight.

Paul, the handsome groom

So beautiful! I love the reflection in the water!

Seriously, this light!!

Some sweet kisses beneath the Georgia pines.

Sara and her sweet sis, Lucia.
I’m sure these sisters spent countless hours in this playhouse. It was only fitting that Sara said goodbye to her single days with one last visit to the playhouse.

The wedding ceremony was held at Gray United Methodist Church, the church where Sara grew up.

Some gorgeous shots under the veil.

Ready to walk down the aisle.

Sara’s youth pastor, Jay Evans, officiated the ceremony.

I love it when the congregation sings a hymn!

“All Creatures of our God and King”
Vows.

Exchanging rings

One more kiss in the twilight before they head to the reception

Allison Lucas decorated The Blacksmith Shop with beautiful Christmas flowers and greenery.
First dance! The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed The Gentlemen of Swing all night long!

The food was by Two’s Company. Yum!Classic, Elegant and Delicious cake by Amanda’s Cakery.

For his groom’s cake, Paul decided to have lemon meringue pies.  All the kiddos could not wait to get some cake!

Sara and Paul both come from families with long legacies of love. To celebrate this, they displayed wedding pictures of their happily married parents. I’m sure that some day Sara and Paul’s own children will be able to celebrate their parents’ long and happy marriage.

Off through the sparklers!
But we had to make one more stop! What’s a Christmas wedding without a Christmas tree?

Thanks for sharing your beautiful day with me!! It was the perfect way to end a great year!
