Engaged: Blakely & Tripp

I had such a fun engagement session with Blakely and Tripp. They got engaged at Lake Oconee, so we had to do their engagement session there, of course! Lake Oconee is the half way point between the 2 towns where they currently live, so they like to meet there for lunch or to spend the day. They even like to invite their moms along because they were best friends in college. Isn’t that adorable?
After Tripp proposed to Blakely, they had a romantic dinner right here by the water. Gorgeous, right?
I love their engagement story!
According to Blakely, “After a failed attempt to propose on a family vacation to Milwaukee to visit my sister (the ring wasn’t ready in time), Tripp had to come up with a new plan. He told me his sister was coming in town and that his entire, extended family was going to Lake Oconee to spend the weekend. Tripp has some close family friends that have a beautiful house on the lake, so the plan was for us to meet there. After his mom “took a wrong turn” leaving the airport to pick up his sister we were the first ones to arrive at the house. When we got there, we went down to the dock and before I knew it Tripp was down on one knee with a ring! Turns out, there was no family weekend at the lake! Soon after, Tripp took me a to a private fireside dinner on the water and we spent the night celebrating just the two of us!”
And Tripp popped the question right here on this dock.
Blakely and Tripp are best friends. When I asked her to describe their relationship, she said, “I have more fun with him than anyone else in the world. I don’t worry about us spending the rest of our lives together because I know even when we’re 90, we’ll still be having fun and making each other laugh.”
Blakely said the hardest part of wedding planning is being patient. She has everything ready and now she can’t wait for the big day to arrive! I can’t wait either. It’s going to be beautiful!
