Engaged: Elizabeth & Jake

I have another sweet engagement to share with you today. We did Elizabeth and Jake’s engagement session at the Riverwalk in Macon. It was the perfect spot for them. Jake is very outdoorsy and enjoys hunting. So he wanted an outdoorsy spot. But Elizabeth is more of a city girl, and since they attend church in Macon and are getting married downtown, the Riverwalk was the perfect combination of outdoors and city.



These two are so in love! It’s awesome to see how God puts two people together who are just the right match. When Elizabeth described their relationship she explained:

We like to say we were destined to be together because we both applied for the same teaching position in Henry County (my parents live there) and they opened up two positions so we both got a job. Jake applied because his aunt knows a secretary from the school. He’s from Indianapolis, so coming down for the interview was definitely a leap of faith. He says I didn’t give him the time of day for half of the year, but then coworkers strongly encouraged us to go “hang out” shortly after my birthday in January and we dated ever since. We had one year contracts so we were both left looking for jobs all over the state of Georgia for the next school year. Somehow, a one in a million chance, we both landed jobs in Houston County. In fact, my elementary school feeds into his middle school. We would have tried to make it work long distance if we had to, but we were blessed to be able to work and live in the same town together.




Fall is their favorite season. Elizabeth loves it for the weather and the fall colors. Jake loves it for deer and duck season.

Check out Elizabeth’s lovely ring. Jake popped the question when Elizabeth came home from work one day. He surprised her with a nice dinner and a special bottle of her favorite wine. When she came to the table, he was down on one knee and proposed. After they enjoyed their romantic dinner, they spent the rest of the night calling friends and family to share the exciting news.






Elizabeth says that she just can’t wait to “spend the rest of her life as his wife!” Sweet!
