Jones Jones Wedding!

February 17, 2014 |

I’m so excited to share this gorgeous wedding with you! I have been friends with Betsy for a while now, and I was so honored to be asked to be her photographer. I knew this day would be fabulous for a lot of reasons. First and foremost, Betsy and Christopher are so in love, and their foundation is in Christ. Second, Betsy and her mom have fantastic taste, and so I knew that every detail would be gorgeous! And third, I knew I would have a chance to work with some of my favorite vendors. This beautiful wedding was everything I expected and more.  Betsy is one of the few brides that doesn’t have to change her last name…and don’t worry they are NOT related!  The first wedding of 2014 started out with a bang…check them out!

Betsy and her lovely Pronovias gown

Betsy had not one, but two, fabulous gowns for her wedding day! She got both lovely gowns at Sweet Elegance Bridal in Atlanta.
Betsy’s details were so glamorous! Loved these gorgeous Jimmy Choo shoes and sparkling garter. She also carried a lovely lace handkerchief, her “something borrowed” from her Grandmother Betty.
Her garter might be my favorite one to date!
Betsy’s gorgeous Signature ‘do by Allison of Signature Salon was completed with this fab hairpiece from Madrid.

The bridesmaid dresses, complete with an adorable peplum and a lovely wrap!
Betsy’s new sister-in-law led a sweet devotional from “Jesus Calling.”

What a gorgeous bride!
These lovely flowers are by the always fabulous Allison Lucas, who is a close friend of the family and Betsy’s honorary aunt. They were so fresh and wintry. Perfect for a January wedding!

You might recognize that beautiful blond on the bottom right side… It’s Anna Blache, one of my former brides!

Winter florals are perfection! Betsy is the Jones’ only child, and they are so close. It was an emotional day for them to give away their little girl. What a precious family!

Christopher the handsome groom.

Every child in Christopher’s family receives a signet ring with the Jones family crest for his or her 18th birthday. What a sweet family tradition!
Christopher received the medal of St. Christopher from his grandmother on the day he was born with instructions to wear it on his wedding day.

He wore the medal on his boutonniere. He also carried an embroidered handkerchief that Betsy gave him. It says, “I love us.”

A toast to the groom with all his groomsmen and ushers!
Betsy was such a gorgeous bride! I love these images of her in front of “the bridal window” at First Presbyterian.

Although they didn’t see each other before the ceremony, they did have a sweet moment together.
Two garters!
It’s not every wedding that I get the honor to pray over the bride before the ceremony… it was truly a blessing to be part of this day!  Love you Betsy!
Betsy and Christopher’s ceremony was a beautiful worship service held at First Presbyterian Church, Betsy’s home church.

Christopher got emotional when he saw his lovely bride walking down the aisle toward him.
I can say their service was my favorite part of their day… especially that they sang the same hymn I had in my wedding “Praise to the Lord.”

A kiss for the bride
And a fist pump from the groom!
Mr. and Mrs. Jones

This arch way that leads to the courtyard is where Betsy’s parents got engaged! I love all the family history at this church!

I love this one! So romantic!

After the ceremony, family and friends celebrated the happy couple at Idle Hour Country Club. The delicious food was prepared by the Idle Hour chef. Guests were also treated to drinks served on an ice luge, and Betsy’s signature drink, The Bee’s Knees.

They even had a live artist painting the scene on the dance floor during the reception!
Betsy’s dad prayed for the new Mr. and Mrs. Jones, and then Christopher’s dad toasted the happy couple.
First dance

The back of Betsy’s dress was divine!
These two were surrounded by so many family and friends! So much love in one room!

Betsy’s elegant and delicious cake was by Lisa Shepley of Lisa Mae Cakes.

Christopher’s groom’s cake was the perfect tribute to his love of literature and their love story. You may remember from their engagement post that he took Betsy on their first date to the Sidney Lanier Cottage, where they discussed poetry while getting to know each other.

You can check out a sweet article about their love story HERE.
The gentlemen celebrated with a cigar bar and brandy out back!
After dinner and cake, it was time to dance! And of course Betsy had to put on her party dress! Christopher was surprised and ready to get his wife on the dance floor!
The Compozitionz entertained the crowd, and everyone danced! They even broke out the LED tambourines!
Cameo from Allison Lucas! You’ve seen her fab flowers in so many weddings over the years, but Allison is one of Betsy’s mom’s dearest friends. So I had to snap a quick pic of these besties along with Betsy and Allison’s right hand man, Canaan.

Dance off!

And after a fabulous night, they were off on the back of a vintage Mercury Cyclone.
With a little surprise of fireworks as the couple headed off to their honeymoon!

Betsy and Christopher, thank you for letting me be a part of your sweet day! I can’t wait to see what the Lord does with your marriage!  To see all of Betsy and Christopher’s pictures, click HERE.
