Matt & Maureen: Forsyth Park Wedding Savannah, GA

January 7, 2014 |

I’m so excited to share this wedding with y’all! Matt and Maureen are from California, but they decided to have a romantic destination wedding. And what better place for romance than Savannah, GA? So these Californians brought their friends and family to celebrate love and get a taste of Southern hospitality.  I LOVE Maureen’s attention to detail!  From the invitations to the reception table settings, every little detail was perfection! With the help of her wedding planner, Bonnie of First City Events, the whole day was exquisite. Take a look at her beautiful invites by Envelopments, along with the Savannah welcome bag with pecan pralines from River Street Sweets to Savannah Bee Company honey!

We started the day at the historic Gastonian Inn where the ladies were getting gorgeous.

Maureen’s fabulous Monique L’Huillier gown.

These Valentino shoes!! LOVE!
Some of the bling!  Maureen had Matt’s ring engraved “You are my favorite person”….sweetness!
Blush florals by A to Zinnias.
How fun are these getting ready robes?
Maureen’s mama & bridesmaids helped her into her dress. Her MOH provided Maureen’s something borrowed, an adorable beaded clutch.

Stunning!

Maureen had such sweet sentimental details. She is wearing her great-grandmother’s ring as her something old. Nanny was from Savannah, and Maureen’s wedding day would have been her 100th birthday. Her dress and shoes were something new. She borrowed the gorgeous bracelet and clutch, and of course her hankie was something blue. Gorgeous bride

Meanwhile across the river the groom was getting ready as well!
Checking out the view of the Savannah River.
Finally Maureen is on the way to meet her man!
The couple originally was planning on getting married at Whitefield Square but it was not available, but it was perfect  for a first look! So romantic!

Such a sweet couple!

From the gorgeous live oaks and dripping Spanish moss to the lovely lace details on Maureen’s gown, this is the epitome of Southern romance.

This gorgeous vintage Packard from Timeless Motor Coaches was the perfect ride for the big day!

The whole wedding party

Maureen and her daddy, all dressed up in his Marine uniform.
I just love shooting in Savannah… so many great spots!

A little bit of champagne to celebrate their wedding day.

The fountain at Forsyth Park. Simply gorgeous!

Maureen wanted to honor her dad and have a little father / daughter moment before the ceremony by taking a walk by the Marines’ memorial.
Testing out those hankies. Each lady received a gorgeous handkerchief with the inscription “Etre Joyeux,” which means rejoice in French.

Ceremony time and who could that be?  The flower girls!   Maureen chose to have her grandmothers as her flower girls!

What a beautiful spot for a ceremony!

A kiss for the new Mr. and Mrs. Matt Quinlan!
All the guests!

Back to the Gastonian for a cocktail hour and a few photos.
After the ceremony, it was time for the party! The happy couple and all of their friends and family hopped on the trolley and headed to Garibaldi for the reception.

Bonnie with First City Events and Meghan and the entire Garibaldi staff made sure that everything down to the last detail was perfection at the reception!

First dance

The guests were treated to a delicious dinner from Garibaldi.
A few tears were shed as friends and family toasted the happy couple and gave some touching speeches!
For her wedding cake,  Michelle Still of Delectable Designs created an elegant white cake embellished with a magnolia blossom, a nod to her classic Southern hostess, the city of Savannah.
Instead of a groom’s cake, Matt decided to have a variety of cakes and pies by Cheryl Day of Back in the Day Bakery. Yum!

Cutting the cake with Maureen’s dad’s saber.
The dj from All about You Entertainment got everyone on the dance floor!

Off through the sparklers
