Mel & Del: Engaged!

Melonie and Dale are such a great couple! I have known Mel since she was a little girl and I have had the pleasure of seeing her grow into a beautiful woman. I asked her to tell me a little about her and Dale’s relationship and this is what she said!
“Dale and I have a fun, playful relationship and we are honestly best friends. Before we started dating we were just friends and for months our friends insisted we must be in a relationship but we were not! After 3-4 months we finally decided our feelings were more than just “friend” feelings. We truly enjoy spending every second together, even though we often get on each others nerves. However when we are apart it’s only an hour before we are both texting one another, saying “I miss you”. Our favorite times are those spent with friends, family, and dogs.”

Melanie and I are both from The Boro. Statesboro, GA is our hometown so it worked out perfectly for us to do the engagement session there the same weekend as her engagement party. We did the shoot at the property of Dr. and Mrs. Al Palmers . It was a perfect location to take pics of this couple and their two crazy dogs!
Here is how Dale popped the question:
“Since I was in middle school, my family and I have spent summers at our lake house outside of milledgeville on Lake Sinclair. My family and I have spent countless days and evenings on the dock and it was my mom’s “favorite spot in the world.” After Dale and I had visited the lake for the last few summers, we always have good conversations on the dock, and once I mentioned how I would love to get engaged there, just the two of us, if he could pull off surprising me. This past fall we were there for a weekend with my Dad and he did pull it off! It was Goose’s first trip to the lake so around noon on Saturday Dale and I walked down to the dock to take pictures with Goose (he was about 10 weeks old). Dale got on one knee and proposed on the dock and I was shocked. Shortly after, about 20 of our closest friends arrived with champagne to celebrate. I still don’t know how he got that one by me!”
She is going to be a stunning bride!
Did I mention that the weather was just perfect!

Melanie said she is the most excited about being with all of her friends and family and dancing the night away to her awesome band!
